I love the idea of glitter. It shimmers, it shines.
Yet, I often have to remind myself that I need to bring it into my classroom once in a while. You cannot even pathom the mess it can make. A sprinkle of glitter can suddenly be in a child's nostrils, ears, hair and not to mention on the floors, walls and sinks.
I find that after I use glitter it lingers around for weeks afterwards.
ReplyDeleteI have recently discovered glitter glue (glitter mixed with clear glue that looks almost like clear hair gel)with my nearly 4 year old daughter, and it's definitely a tidier way to get a glitter effect. It does still work it's way onto different surfaces, but it's not quite as insidious as the powdery stuff. When I head back to the classroom after my parental leave, I'll be trying it out with the kids because I think it would be just as fun but a little more manageable.
ReplyDeleteOn the days we use glitter you just have to surrender to it. You have to know you and every child will come come with glitter in every place possible, but you also have to not care!
